AI resume–job match checker

MatchRadar compares a job's requirements with the evidence in your experience, then gives you an honest fit score, a short verdict, and the gaps worth noticing before you apply. Upload your CV once and check any posting against it.

  • Semantic fit, not a keyword-overlap percentage
  • Requirements shown as met, partial, or missing
  • No resume rewrite that invents experience you do not have
  • Your score is never shown to an employer

What the resume–job match score measures

A useful score has to distinguish a missing keyword from a missing qualification. MatchRadar reads the whole posting and looks for evidence across four practical parts of fit.

Required skills

Tools, methods, certifications, languages, and domain knowledge the posting actually asks for.

Relevant experience

Whether your work shows comparable responsibilities, outcomes, and years at the expected level.

Seniority and scope

A title alone is not enough; team size, ownership, budget, and decision scope matter too.

Practical constraints

Location, remote policy, relocation, and salary expectations can turn a paper match into a real mismatch.

A fit score is not an ATS score

An ATS checker usually asks whether your document is formatted and worded so recruiting software can parse it. This checker answers a different question: does your real experience fit this particular job?

That is why MatchRadar can tell you that a requirement is genuinely missing instead of recommending that you add its keyword. Never put a skill on your resume unless it is true and you can defend it in an interview.

How to use the result

  1. 1Read the one-line verdict before the number.
  2. 2Check every missing hard requirement; some are genuine gates.
  3. 3Bring relevant evidence forward in your resume, without changing the facts.
  4. 4Apply when the role is worth your time—not just when the score is high.

What happens to your CV?

It is stored in your own account so you upload it once instead of pasting it for every posting, and common contact details — name, email, phone — are removed before anything reaches the AI. Nothing is used to train a model, and export and deletion both live inside the app, not behind a support request.

See how daily job matching works

What AI matching does that keyword matching cannot

A keyword tool asks whether two documents share words. That is why a CV can score highly against a job it does not fit — the words match and the substance does not — and why rewriting a CV to contain more of the posting's phrases raises the number without changing anything a hiring manager will see.

Matching against the whole posting asks a different question: does the experience you can actually evidence do the work this role describes? That is a judgement about seniority, scope, domain and the motion of the job — a regional role is not a local one, running a function is not reporting into it, and a shared job title can hide either difference. Those distinctions are invisible to word overlap and they are usually what decides the outcome.

So the output is not a percentage on its own. Each requirement is marked as met, partly met, or missing, with the line from your CV that supports it — which means you can disagree with the verdict and see exactly where it went wrong, rather than being told a number.

The limits are stated too: a score reads two documents and cannot know the applicant pool, the referral you do not have, or an employer's unstated preferences. See how the score is built and why an ATS score is a different thing entirely.

What you can check without paying

Every account starts with 7 days of the full product and needs no card, so there is nothing to cancel if you walk away. In that window you can check as many postings against your CV as the plan allows, and the weekday shortlist runs the whole time.

There is no permanently free tier, and the honest reason is that every check is a real AI call we pay for. A free tier funded by making the check cheaper would quietly give you a worse answer, which is the failure this whole page argues against. After the trial it is $17.99 a month.

Two things stay free for as long as you have an account, because they are yours rather than ours: exporting everything we hold about you, and deleting it. Neither is metered and neither needs a subscription.

One caveat worth knowing before you spend an evening comparing postings you saved a while ago. We measured the lifespan of 55,942 job advertisements and, for the median employer, half are taken down within 22 days. Checking your CV against a posting that has already closed is the most common way this kind of tool wastes somebody's time.

Resume–job matching questions

Can I compare my resume with a job description for free?

Yes, for 7 days, and without a card. Create an account, upload your CV once, and check it against any posting. After the trial it is $17.99 a month; there is no free tier, because every check costs us a real AI call and we would rather charge for it than quietly make it worse.

Does a high match score guarantee an interview?

No. A score can summarize evidence in two documents; it cannot predict the applicant pool, a recruiter's judgment, referrals, timing, or an employer's unstated preferences.

Should I add every missing keyword to my resume?

Only when the keyword truthfully describes experience you already have. If the underlying skill or qualification is missing, adding the phrase would misrepresent your background.

How is this different from an AI resume checker?

A resume checker grades the document — formatting, parseability, keyword density — against no particular job. This compares your experience with one specific posting and reports which of ITS requirements your background evidences. Both are useful, and they answer different questions: one asks whether your CV is readable, the other whether you fit.

Do employers or recruiters ever see my match scores?

No. MatchRadar works for candidates only: your scores, gaps and CV are never shown to an employer, sold to a recruiter database, or used to rank you against another member. The product has no employer-facing side at all.

Can I use a CV instead of a US-style resume?

Yes, either works. MatchRadar reads experience and skills; it does not require a particular document template.
